How to make homemade dog toys

A dog is man’s best friend. They protect, guard and play with us as well. Dogs often play with their owners but when alone they search something or anything for them to play with. They love to play with kid’s toys especially the fluffiest and squeaky toys. They chew and bite through those helpless fluffy toys and after leaving cotton and fabric debris behind, they search for another one. A dog may not be a friend in this situation.

To prevent this from happening, why don’t you give your dog a toy that he can chew and bite all the way he wanted. Don’t buy a new toy. Just create your dog’s toy on your own. It’s easy, durable and inexpensive too. You can do this at home. No more tailoring problem because it’s easy and fast. All you need now is the materials you needed (no more buying, you can get the materials at home) and learn how to create this inexpensive dog toys.

The materials are easy. Collect different colors of fabric. If you haven’t got any, you can use your old clothing. Those will do. Design a pattern for the toy you will make. You can design your own sewing pattern or get it from online sources. You need a sewing machine or just sew it by hand using a needle and a thread. You will also need scissors for cutting and stuffing. If you want, you can put additional features for your dog toy. Put a squeaker inside. It should create noises that would make your dog crazy.

It’s easy how to make this toy. The procedures are simple and anyone can do it. If you have your design ready you may start sewing. Sew the fabric the way you like it. Sew the fabric into a pouch. The opening would leave you space to put your stuffing inside. If you are planning on adding a squeaker inside, you should encase the squeaker inside a separate fabric. This will create a protective layer that will prevent your dog from chewing the squeaker. Fill in the stuffing. Use shredded fabrics or you may choose to buy fiber fill stuffing. Sew the opening hole and close it.

And there you have it. It’s so inexpensive that you can create another one when your dog destroys the first one. Keep in mind that shredded fabrics can be ingested by your dog and may be harmful to his system. Keep an eye on your dogs.
